This is a practical guide to using the algorithms for students and professionals alike. Students will find it easier to understand the basic concepts behind every mathematical algorithm. There can be no doubt about the importance of algorithms in the field of science, applied physics, engineering and programming. This book does not just deal with the classic powerful problems of algorithms but also the latest ones. This allows students with a better understanding of complicated problems and increase efficiency in solving these problems.

This is a highly popular work on some of the most classic algorithms that are rendered straightforward for every student.

Dasgupta has provided the necessary tools with the help of which one can improve mathematical problem-solving abilities and decrease issues associated with it. One has to realize that math is solved not through memorizing formulae but by intuition and this is possible by going through Algorithms. The unique feature of this book is the comprehensive look into design rationales and issues as well as the alternative solutions provided.

There are different perspectives stated regarding the design of algorithms which have been thoroughly tested in the University of California, Berkeley for over a decade.

Students and teachers alike have found this a practical and resourceful book for anyone seeking to understand complex algorithms and be able to comprehend through the Solutions Manual provided.

There are references made to computing, engineering, physics, web navigation and data compression. There are detailed insights on performance and implementation as well. The great thing about Algorithms is the way the chapters are arranged according to the fundamentals and types of problems faced. Students and professionals will find this book extremely valuable.

I found this book after doing my engineering and when i read it for the first time, i realized it is probably the best book on algorithms i have read so far. Unlike other algorithms book, this is written in crisp manner and you can go through the entire book within short time. Also the explanation of concepts is really good. Purchase it if you are looking to develop your algorithm design skills and thinking ability around them.

Navneet Gupta 30 Aug, This book is just awesome introduction to algorithms. It feels more like a class room with a cool teacher, who tells you stories in between how algorithms are embodied in day to day life.

For algorithm lover even if you have chrlstos understanding of algorithms, its a worth buy. Sandeep Verma 5 Mar, This book is more than a classroom. Concepts are well explained in a mathematical and understandable way. Delivery before expected time. The book is well suited for those who have a passion in mathematics.

It covers a lot of algorithms along with its practical use in the field of computing.

Consequently, some prior understanding of maths is must. I would not usually praise any book more than the christis thorough Cormen – but this book deserves special mention. Explains algorithms conceptually rather than going into implementational details. While this might seem bad at first, it makes this book portable and easy to reference.

I would however not recommend papadijitriou as a standalone and more as a very useful reference book. Please don’t buy this book it is a completely a waste of money. No in detail explanation and no lucid way of explaining.

Two star for short and crisp way of writing it. Singh Certified BuyerPune 27 Nov, It is an average book.

It is more intuitive and compact than say CLRS. The spread is less papdaimitriou most of the basic areas have been touched upon. I would recommend this book for supplementary reading. Francis Ouseph Certified Buyer 11 Oct, Have doubts regarding this product? Safe and Secure Payments.
