We start the book with a woman, who we find out is named Claire, running through the streets half naked, freaking out, beaten up and being chased by demons. She is on Earth, and when she tries to bazt people to help her they call her crazy. Claire doesn’t realize witches and demons are hidden from the population on Earth. Eventually, she gets locked up under suspicion of being batshit crazy. Before they knock her out, she sends out a message with her flickering magick that she is alive and where she’s at.
They find out that she has a foreign magick in her that turns out to be, well, basically a nuke. The Atrika demons are after the ball of magick contained in her, called the Elium, to go back to their homeland and take over control.
So Thomas sticks her with Adam and Theo, two witches from the coven for protection and sends her on the run so the demons can’t ‘jump’ to her read the book. She ends up getting with Adam, and turns that playboy really sad backstory into a hubby. I truly love this series and it’s really action packed. Claire is such an amazingly powerful character. This series consists of all companion novels, so we see Glood in the next book as well.

We learn more about the demon realm in this book and altho Claire has lived there for most of her life she makes the transition to living in this realm very well she is one strong lady. Witch Blood (Elemental Witches, #2) by Anya Bast
Her stories still carry the added oomph that’s characteristic of her writing background. This series is building to what should be a battle of epic proportions if she keeps it up! With each book, as soon as I begin I’m pulled back into her worlds of daemons and wit Well, Anya Bast continues building her intricate universe with “Witch Heart”, book three in her ‘Elemental Witches’ series.
With each book, as soon as I begin I’m pulled back into her worlds of daemons and witches and can’t stop reading until I run out of pages! If you’ve been following this series and I DON’T suggest you try to pick it up here cause you’ll miss a lotthen you already met Claire, the heroine witch of this book, in book two “Witch Blood”.
Although a human witch, when Claire bloodd six her mother dragged into the daemon world in a bid for power. For twenty-three years Claire has been the wich and experiment of the most powerful of one of the daemon races. When that race is attacked by another, her ‘owner’ inserts a powerful magical weapon into Claire and then pushes her through a gate to Earth Because of her upbringing, Claire is extremely naive regarding the customs and bazt of Earth and manages to find herself in trouble pretty quickly.
Adam is a fire witch and a healer who lost his human wife to violence and has never gotten over the guilt of her loss. When he is on the team sent to ‘rescue’ Claire, he’s immediately drawn to her and the more time he spends with her the stronger the pull. Between running from daemons and exposing Claire to all and I do mean ALL she’s missed so far in her life, he’s falling hard and fast, though angrily, in love with her.
But the daemons chasing Claire have no intention of leaving Earth without the weapon she carries, and they’re perfectly happy Another tense glood of magic, love, battle, and sex. Bast’s pacing keeps you turning the pages eager to find out what happens next.
The HEA is good without being at all sappy and the sexual tension and sex scenes are smokin’! My only beef was with Adam’s initial waffling I’d have either kicked him in the goods or thrown him down to suffer my attentions, but Claire’s reactions were dead on for someone with her level of relationship experience.
Now I’m chewing my nails and waiting for “Witch Fury” which should hit the shelves in June Apr 01, Ruby rated it did not like it Shelves: This review was first posted on http: Boy, it’s just not my week.
It’s too bad, really. Enough to turn a girl off Paranormal Romance for a while. I knew going into this book that I wasn’t reading the first book in the series. I was prepared for missing puzzle pieces and not being able to co This review was first posted on http: I was prepared for missing puzzle pieces and not being able to connect to certain characters in the novel. Unfortunately, that wasn’t Witch Heart’s biggest abya.
I think my main struggle with this book was that it suffered from the thing that turns most people away from Romance novels: I like the instant attraction storyline–but I don’t blod it when the main characters hurry into bed together as though the author is chasing them there with a chainsaw.
Sexual tension is at its most delicious when there’s time for said tension bloor build. Bast doesn’t give us that with Wktch and Claire and that’s the major flaw in this blpod. Let me tell you a little about the plot. In Bast’s world, there are witches, warlocks and demons. There’s also a demon world. Occasionally, the two worlds intermix, and not with good results. Demons and warlocks are the bad guys.
Witches are the good guys–and bkood Bast’s universe, even males are called witches.

I admit that tripped me up every time I ran across it. The hero of Witch Heat is Jack. Jack works as the bodyguard I think of Thomas, the leader of his coven. In what I assume was a previous book, Thomas was sent into the demon world, where he met our heroine, Claire.
Claire’s mother dragged her into the demon world when she was five. After Claire’s mother died, Claire was never able to return to Earth–so she has lived the last 25 years of her life as handmaiden to the demon Rue. Claire met Thomas and developed a crush on him in the last book again, I’m assuming and helped Thomas escape back to Earth.
Then, Rue who blod been tampering with her magick for yearsforced something called an elium into Claire and shoved her through a portal that left her stranded on Earth. The witches of Bast’s world have powers that are linked to the elements: Claire is an earth witch, but because of Rue’s tampering, she has access to the powers of the other elements.
