This was the project akkshara kid did on Diwali. It came up very well and he was very happy to see it hanging in our frontyard.
I thought of sharing this with everybody.
Below are the instructions and video. Attach two end of the paper at the Longer ends and then roll the paper into a cylinder at the Longer ends and glue it. Take another paper fold it in half lengthwise. Cut strips in toward the folded flap. Spacing is to your preference.
To make cuts even, you may want to mark your cuts first. Leave about 1 inch of a margin this is where you will glue your lantern.
Glue both ends of this paper and stick it to the cylinder from top to bottom. Repeat this procedure for more. Take another paper and cut it length wise about 1 inch width.
